RESPITE CARE
Senior Respite Care Services
Respite care is an essential senior care service, often required when a dependent person’s main carer cannot carry out their caregiving responsibilities for a given time. Often a primary carer is taken ill or will be temporarily unavailable. Primary carers may also need to take a break for a holiday or to visit family. Whatever your individual case may be, Jackman’s Lodge is the perfect place to provide a warm short stay for your loved one where all of their needs will be met. We provide an ample range of elderly care home services. Our team welcomes our short-stay residents with warmth and open arms. A respite stay in an elderly care facility is often compared to a holiday experience by many of our short-term residents, who find this offers a welcome opportunity to socialise. Respite stays can serve to introduce your loved one to the added comforts of residential senior care, should they decide to opt for long-term care in the future. If you would like to speak to our friendly staff about the benefits of our elderly respite care home services, contact us today on 01483 694115 or click here for more information.

CARE FUNDING
Do you have questions about senior care home funding?
Private care home funding is frequently an important concern for anyone facing the decision of moving into a senior care home or considering this option for a loved one. Senior residential care homes present a team of professionals offering round-the-clock care as well as providing good meals, laundry services, entertainment and a welcoming place to socialise. Unsurprisingly, elderly care home services are expensive and the prospect of sourcing funding can be very daunting. Fortunately, there are funding options available at a national level for the different types of care services. This funding may be provided by local Councils or by the National Health Service.
Funding is calculated based on the state of health of the dependant person, their level of dependency and their financial situation. The first step will always be an assessment of these factors and, in the case of respite care, an assessment will also be made of the primary carer’s responsibilities. We know that funding the cost of an elderly care home can be difficult to navigate. We have prepared some helpful information to help you make sense of it all. Click below to read all about elderly care home funding and feel free to contact Jackman’s Lodge on 01483 694115 if you would like more information.

Often people refer to a ‘care home’ as a facility that only provides residential care. The main difference is that a nursing home always has a qualified nurse on-site to provide medical care. Many people who think they need a nursing home would actually be equally suitable for a residential home where the district nurse comes on-site as and when she is needed.
